Had a patient come into the clinic dumped his meds on the counter, yelled at us at the front because he doesn’t want to take those meds anymore, and doesn’t know why the doctor prescribed them, one PASR asked why’s he still picking them up from the pharmacy then, if he’s not taking them? He continued to get mad then stopped put them all back in his plastic bag and left…..he just had an in person visit two days prior the doctor never changed his meds

All that for $15 an hour 😩 Also there are 2 of us schedulers currently working at a 4 provider office (4th provider just joined us this week and we’ve been getting almost 100 phone calls a day (mostly his patients wanting to see him for the last 2 months) but higher ups say they don’t see a reason we need another scheduler 😃🙃 I’m beyond exhausted 😩

“I need my controlled meds, I’m leaving on a trip today and totally forgot!” Meanwhile they haven’t been seen for their follow up appointments. They called on a Friday afternoon when they know the docs leave at 12 and yell at us even though we tell them the same thing every month.

I had enough to talking to rude patients, rude doctors and rude nurses after 13 years but I’m still in healthcare because I do enjoy helping . I now work as a UR specialist for a substance Rehabilitation center ( I work at HQ). I love it !!! I don’t have to talk on the phone with patients , drs , or nurses . I’m not a queue . I call insurances or fax to get treatment for our patients . I do love seeing the progress on how the patients do . The way I communicate with clinicians is email not phones and management gets cc on all emails so no snarky emails ;) It’s not easy as you have to talk to health insurances and read a lot of paperwork but I love it 🥰 if you are loookinf for something like that , check online . You don’t have to be a nurse unless they specifically want a nurse to do something called peer to peers . I schedule those with the insurance Dr and with ones of our drs . I get paid better too . I wish you the best my dear 💖
