![Dreams come true 🥹🎈 Here’s everything you need to know to fly on a hot air balloon in Cappadocia ⬇️ I’m so grateful to @Turkish Airlines and @Go Türkiye for organizing everything! Here’s what I learned: 1. Book early. Flights often sell out days in advance, especially from April to October. 2. Weather is very important, and it’s often hard to predict it in advance. Balloons only fly if conditions are calm. Strong wind or rain means cancellations, and on average flights get canceled 30-40% of times! Sometimes they even get cancelled after you arrive to the flight. Always plan at least 2–3 mornings to increase your chances. 💡If your flight gets canceled, most companies rebook you automatically for the next available morning. 3. Flights only happen in the morning, and most of the balloons go up before or at sunrise with pick-up is around 4–5 AM. 4. Flight time: Usually 50–75 minutes, depending on wind direction and speed. 5. Price range: Around $150–$250 per person depending on season and company. 6. Wear layers and closed shoes, mornings get cold even in summer. 7. Plan an extra morning for watching sunrise from Love Valley or Goreme on the day you’re not flying yourself. Watching hundreds balloons in the sky is a wonderful experience by itself. It’s also a great idea if you’re afraid of heights and don’t plan on flying but still want to have the experience. Our initial flight was actually canceled the night before 🙈 Then the next day we got lucky and were able to enjoy it!
