highly recommend getting a dashcam. shortly after I got mine something similar happend to me with equipment from a city firetruck coming off and hitting my car on the highway. thankfully not the windshield or it would have done the same as in your video. without the dashcam the city tried to deny deny deny even though I had the object with the city name and fire department logo on it 🙄 glad you are all safe without more serious injuries. hope you and your family have a speedy recovery.

your only option will be to file a claim with your insurance. car is a total loss, you can never get all the glass shards out of the fabric and vents.

You are VERY lucky. I’m a Firefighter Paramedic in California and I’ve been on three fatalities from rebar, pipe, and chain coming through peoples front windshield while on the highway. You are VERY lucky.

If it helps the 392 is probably a truck designation. the truck number, which may be recorded by fleets. Also canvas local businesses in the area for video footage.Look specifically for trucks or tow trucks that were caught on video.Possibly with the designation number 392
