@delvingsufism: Mevlana Rumi unveils a truth understood only by hearts that have tasted the nearness of Allah swt. 💚 When he says, “Auliyah Allah… deed-e-peer deed-e-kibriyah,” he is teaching that the lovers of God Auliya Allah are like polished mirrors, when you look at them, you glimpse a reflection of Divine Majesty. Their presence softens the heart, their gaze awakens the soul, and their silence carries the fragrance of the One they love. Yet Rumi reminds us with gentleness and firmness that simply claiming a shaykh is not enough. If the seeker does not see Allah swt noor through the guide, he has not yet become a true mureed. Because the goal of the path is not the guide, the goal is the Face of the Beloved shining through everything. And then Rumi turns to his own journey: “Maulvi hargiz na shud Maula-e-Rum, tā ghulām-e-Shams Tabraizi na shud.” He admits, with breathtaking humility, that he did not become Rumi through logic, scholarship, or brilliance. He became Rumi the day he surrendered to the spiritual sun that was his guide Shams Tabraizi. Shams did not give him new knowledge, Shams set fire to the knowledge he already had, so it could rise as light.
