I have a sunshade that I made for $5. it protects from the sun and I can use it to keep snow off my windshield. you can also buy sunshades that can be on the outside of your car for less than $20 on Amazon.

the water will make it freeze to your car. it's a piano to get off when it happens. I had one, ill never use it again.

depending on where you live, covering the registration or inspection sticker will get you a ticket if parked on the public roadway. so saving your money will save you even more money in the long run.

I have a different version of that type of thing, they are amazing! Flick it off and no snow/ice on the windshield! Wind chill hit -20 the first year I used it and it never stuck to my car! I swear by these things now!
