@inkedbyxay_: #pov ||| #oneshot ||| Almost Us I never thought I’d come back here. Yung coffee shop na dati naming tambayan, yung smell ng cinnamon at kape, yung tables na puno ng tawanan at yakap namin… ngayon parang naibabalik lahat ng memories, pero masakit. And there he was, sitting at the corner, at our favorite spot. The man I loved all my life. The man who made my life so much better. Jeo… He looked just like I remembered — only more grown-up, more untouchable now. My chest tightened, my hands shook, and for a moment, I couldn’t breathe. “Y/N…” His voice. Mahina lang, almost a whisper, pero sobrang tama sa dibdib ko. “Jeo.” I forced a small smile. “Hi… it’s been a while.” He nodded, sliding into the seat across from me. “Yeah… sobra na nga.” His eyes softened, but there was something in them — restraint, sadness, finality. I sat down and stirred my coffee, pretending to care about the warmth. “You… look good.” “You too.” He smiled faintly. “Parang… hindi ka nagbago.” A bitter laugh escaped my lips. “You know… dati, we used to talk about weddings here. Me, you, our future family… ang corny, di ba? Tawa lang tayo noon, pero parang… sobrang serious na sa puso.” He looked down at his cup, silent. “How funny you’re marrying someone else. She’s so lucky, Jeo… a-ako dapat ‘yon.” My voice cracked a little, but I couldn’t stop. “I wonder… masaya ka ba? Mahal mo ba siya?” Jeo’s lips pressed together. He opened his mouth to answer, then closed it. A sigh escaped him — long, heavy, tired. “Y/N… it’s… complicated. It’s not about love, not like that. Family… business… I didn’t have a choice.” I stared at him, my heart breaking all over again. I could feel the weight of years, of love lost, of everything we were supposed to have together. And yet… here he was, forced into a life that wasn’t his first choice either. I nodded slowly. “I see… Kaya hindi na natin kailangan ilaban pa. It's useless.” My voice barely a whisper, but I meant it. The fight was over before it even started. The love was still there, pero hindi na pwede. He looked up at me, eyes glistening, and nodded. “ I just want to see you, to check on you. If you are okay. " I gave him a bitter smile. "I am surviving but I was never okay, Jeo." He looked at me with so much pain. " I'm so sorry Y/N. I never meant to hurt you " Before I could reply, his phone rang. He glanced at it, and my stomach sank. The way he smiled softly at the screen… and then I heard it: “Yes, babe. I’m going home.” I froze. Babe… our call sign. The one he used to call me when we were together. I could barely breathe. My hands gripped the edge of the table, knuckles white. The bitter coffee burned my throat, but I didn’t care. He stood slowly, glancing down at me one last time. “Y/N, I have to go. Thank you for still coming. I will never ask you to forgive me, but take care of yourself please." I nodded, smiled, like everything was fine. “You too, Jeo. Congrats on your engagement. ” And then he walked out. I stayed there, frozen, watching him leave, pretending to sip my coffee normally. People passed by, the door opened and closed, laughter filled the room… but inside, I was breaking. Heart shattering, chest aching, tears threatening to spill. I wanted to disappear, to vanish into nothingness, but I stayed. Just to remember him one last time. I looked down, tears finally falling. How can life be this unfair? How funny… I still love him after all that happened. I wiped my tears, forcing one last smile. “Goodbye, Jeo. Forever.” #jeoong #fyp #foryoupage @TikTok
