It’s crazy how much work they do in kindergarten now!! We don’t get nap time, sadly. Some of mine fall asleep during snack in the afternoon. And I saw you use OpenCourt and IReady math as well, it moves SO fast! Also, sorry I ask but I’m a 1yr kinder teacher! Any center/small group ideas for me?! I’m struggling a little with finding fun, easy things to do!

Nap time was my favorite! I always pretended to nap 😅😜 now I wish someone would tell me to nap!

Kinder in tx.. we don’t nap, but most of my kids nap at home.. I have some kids falling asleep half way through the day😅

I’m in N.C. and they have naptime the first half of the year and no it’s not the same. It’s sad they’re not aloud to be kids and have fun anymore. They should be aloud to be 5&6 and play!!!!

we do “rest time.” students are on rest mats and they can look at a book or just relax. sometimes 1 or 2 of mine will sleep, depending on how busy our day was! it’s for 30 mins at the end of the day

This is my 4th year in kindergarten… NO NAPS 😒 we do have a 2 and a half hour reading block though… no time for fun.

Yes in my kindergarten in Michigan—half of my kids fall asleep. And HARD like drooling and snoring. They are so tired by the afternoon I don’t think we could get through the rest of our day without it!

30 years of Mississippi kindergarten, and I tell parents…”kindergarten is kinda like being in Harvard!”🤣 My first 15 years we had a nap time and that was so great. My last 15 years no nap time! I am now retired and so I have nap-time lol!

Alabama here! We don’t do nap time🥲 a couple schools in my district will do naps the 1st nine weeks then they stop but my school doesn’t. My class does 8 minutes of “rest” after lunch and I eat my lunch🤣

I’ve taught kindergarten in the same state I grew up in and I didn’t get nap time in kindergarten and we did not have kindergarten while I was teaching

We do not get nap time in kindergarten. At my school, we make time for a quiet snack time. We turn lights off and turn pbs kids on.

When I was in preschool and kinder, we did have nap time! This was back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s in Southern California!
