. — . ± ♱ — ♱ ± One day, Winter was lying on the bed while Karina worked on her assignments, her laptop balanced carefully on her lap. Suddenly, Winter’s phone buzzed a message from her best friend inviting her to a cosplay-themed party. The moment she read it, Winter shot upright. “Baby! Baby!” “Yes, darling?” Karina said, her eyes still focused on the screen. “My friend invited me to a cosplay-themed party, will you come with me? You know how much I love this.” Winter said, her voice full of excitement. Karina sighed, finally closing her laptop halfway. “I’ll go… as long as you don’t make me wear anything too strange.” Winter’s grin. “Actually… I want us to match.” Karina raised a brow. “Oh? And what exactly are we matching as?” Winter flipped her phone around, showing two pictures ; Pyramid Head and the Silent Hill Nurse. Karina froze. Then she shook her head. “No. Absolutely not. Winter, that nurse costume… it’s way too revealing.” Winter blinked innocently. “But you love horror characters.” “I said horror.” Karina muttered. Winter pout. “What? Are you worried someone else will look at me?” “I didn’t say that.” Karina stiffened. “You don’t have to,” Winter whispered, leaning closer. “Your face already says it all.” Suddenly, she gently pushed the laptop aside and settled herself on Karina’s lap. “Winter,” Karina murmured, her hands instinctively resting on Winter’s waist. Winter tilted her head, hopefully. “Maybe… or maybe I just want you to say yes to the party. Please?” Karina’s thumb brushed her cheek, her voice soft. “Fine. But only because you’re too pretty to say no to.” ± ♱ The day.. ♱ ± When Winter stepped out of her room in the nurse outfit, Karina forgot how to breathe. Her legs were wrapped in crooked bandages, the torn nurse dress hugged her waist perfectly, and the smoky makeup sharpened her features into something dangerously beautiful. “Do I look good?” Winter asked. Karina just stared, “No. You don’t look good.” Winter blinked, confused. “You look… illegal. And how am I supposed to let you go out like this?” Karina said. “well, you already agreed.” winter smiled. “…Can we just stay home?” Karina pout. “No,” Winter said, poking her cheek. Karina sighed deeply, then lifted the massive Pyramid Head helmet and slid it on, picking up the oversized prop sword. “I meant what I said. How am I supposed to let you go out looking like… that?” Karina’s voice echoed from inside the helmet. “You sound jealous.” Winter smirked. “I am.” Winter froze, startled by the blunt honesty. “But I’ll still go.” Karina said and adjusted the helmet. ± ♱ — ♱ ± As soon as, they arrived at the party. Winter’s friends immediately spotted her. “Winter! Wait… who’s that?” one of them asked, eyeing the tall Pyramid Head beside her. Winter beamed. “This is Karina.” Winter’s friends exchanged surprised looks. They clearly weren’t expecting Winter to arrive with someone. “I’ll get you a drink, stay where I can see you, okay?” Karina said. Winter nodded as Karina walked toward the drink table. The moment Karina stepped away, a man approached Winter, eyes traveling down her outfit. “Hey, are you taken? If not, maybe I could take you home later. We can get to know each other.” Winter stepped back, uncomfortable. Before she could answer, Karina stood there with the drink in hand. “Yes. She is taken.” The man frowned. “And who are you supposed to be? Winter, you never said you had a boyfriend.” “I’m not her boyfriend.” Karina removed the helmet and her eyes cold. “I’m her girlfriend.” Winter’s friends gasped. The man’s expression faltered. Karina slipped an arm around Winter’s waist. “This conversation is over.” The man backed away quickly, disappearing into the crowd. “He was looking at you like he owned you. I wasn’t letting that happen.” Karina said. Then she leaned in, her breath brushing Winter’s ear. “Stay close to me tonight, okay? I don’t like people looking at you like that.” Winter nodded. For the rest of the night, Karina never left her side. #winrina
