📌 PSA FOR PARENTS If you are noticing behavior concerns in your child right now or their energy levels seem off or inconsistent, please do not let anyone rush you straight into labels or medication before you rule out the basics first. Start with their health. 🩸 Ask your child’s doctor for a FULL blood workup. Not just a basic screening. A full panel. Why? Because children can show irritability, hyperactivity, mood swings and focus issues when they are physically depleted. Some of the most common things we see are: • Low Iron (can look like fatigue, zoning out, or low motivation) • Vitamin D Deficiency (can look like depression or irritability) • Low Potassium or other electrolyte imbalances • Food allergies or sensitivities that can impact behavior and focus • Blood sugar issues that can cause crashing and emotional regulation difficulties 🧠 Before assuming the problem is behavioral or psychological, we look at the body first. So when you go to the doctor, say: “I would like a full workup with extensive blood testing including vitamin levels, iron panel, thyroid function, and allergy testing.” Advocate. Ask questions. Ask for results to be explained clearly. Do not be afraid to say “Can you check for anything else that could be contributing to this?” You are not being difficult. You are being thorough. 🍎 Our children deserve to have their health needs understood before their behavior is judged. 🫶 Be your child’s advocate. Don’t jump straight to conclusions. There are many reasons a child may be struggling that have absolutely nothing to do with their character or their potential. 💛 You’ve got this. Your child deserves to feel their best. #kidshealthmatters #gentleparenting #advocatingforchildren #mentalhealthmatters #advocate
