I get your point but for example I’m dyslexic and if I didn’t have access to a computer I wouldn’t have passed my exams I get that we need more non computer related school work but yeah that’s what I think

I had to pull my middle-schooler out to homeschool the rest of the year bc we moved and I started her in online screen school programs and she ASKED ME to please switch to workbooks because she couldn’t learn anything that way.

The way that my five-year-old came home from kindergarten and is now asking me for his cell phone because one of his friends at recess had his, mind you this kid is in first grade, but still that’s what six or seven years old maybe?😑 I told him absolutely not. It’s going to be a very long time before you get your own cell phone dude. I also told him if and when he gets his first cell phone it’s going to be a flip phone with no Internet. Because that’s not the purpose of phones and that’s not why I would be getting it for him.He also used to have a tablet but about a year ago it stopped charging fully and we never use it at home anymore and his imagination and ability to play alone and still have fun. Makes me so happy.👏

yeah it sucks. we block and restrict YouTube at home, then my kid just goes to school and has unrestricted access on his school issued Chromebook 🙄
