When I turned it off, it made it so I keep getting notifications for every email. Said I can’t have different inboxes unless I turn smart features back on. How do I keep them from using my data while not having 30k unread emails constantly in my face??

If I turn it off, I can’t have newsletters and promos filtered from my main inbox. It’s one of the main reasons I use Gmail. It’ll be useless without that function. I’m so angry they bundled that.

I'm confused. Isn't that how it makes Gemini better? Also, they have literally never not had a computer scan every word of every email since their inception? That's why the service is free.

They used all our data to train their AI the second they added this setting and had everything be “on” automatically. And it’s not like the training they did can be undone after you uncheck the box. So really there was 0 chance of protecting our personal emails from being fed to AI. Class action lawsuit now!
