Laura Kinsale is quite literally the goat, and I know 100 percent why she tapped out after 10 books. they're just too good, she gave us all she could.

I adored Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn and Catherine Anderson. I basically drank in the 19th century wild west romances. Laura Kinsale is now on my tbr!

my problem is that I STARTED my romance reading with Laura Kinsale and nothing has ever lived up to her writing since. my top 3 are Flowers from the Storm, My Sweet Folly, and The Shadow and the Star but honestly every one her books is top tier.

She’s on my list of authors to read, but just speaking on the English majors bit…do people know Eloisa James is a tenured English professor? She went to Harvard, Oxford and Yale. 👩🏫

Okay people help sell my on for my lady’s heart. I was so put off by the MMC sleeping with his wife over and over even though she was upset before having her committed? Am I missing something? I adore the genre and I feel fomo for this book lol

🥺 I sat here STUNNED to hear you drop that name as I was scrolling. I’ve been preaching about her for decades. Queen of show, don’t tell. Oh and was writing morally grey characters before they were en vogue, too!

I kind of regret starting HR with Laura Kinsale (Flowers from the Storm) because nothing else I’ve read in the genre is as good as her work.
