Self defense is not a Sin. No one should meaninglessness throw their life away. Jesus died to save others. He avoided being killed until it mattered. That should be the only acceptable reason for laying down ones life both spiritually or physically. A sacrifice purposed on standing on God's ethics and principle for the righteous impacting on others.
