@theangieharmon: 🐿️ Three years ago my daughter Emery found a helpless baby squirrel on the sidewalk of a really busy road near her school. Her eyes were still closed she was skinny and dehydrated. After a little research I learned how to raise her and got welcomed into the sweetest squirrel community online (even though I still had no clue if she was a boy or girl which is how she ended up with the name “Thomas”). 😂 After her release, she chose a big tree in my backyard.. a friend brought me two more rescues, Emmy and Oscar. They fell 19 feet from a construction site ceiling. Oscar landed on a construction worker but Emmy took the full fall and ended up blind in one eye. Releasing them was bittersweet but Emmy lives in the tree outside my bedroom window and Oscar still checks in from time to time. Then came Simeon. A friend and her kids found him in their yard and waited for his mom to come back but she never did so I got to be his mommy for a bit. This release was a little daunting because it was the first time I simply took a squirrel outside and let him go. Normally I open my bathroom window and they spend the day outside then come back in at night to sleep in their little nest. Simeon is doing great and now runs around with Emmy and Oscar. I see them every day and still get to play with Simeon. Releasing each one of them is always tough but the fact that they stay close to home makes my heart so happy. Who knew these little creatures that destroy my crown molding could make me this happy. 😂❤️ #squirrelrescue #squirrellife #squirrel
