@kmrobinsontech: You can easily brighten your subject in front of a Christmas tree in Premiere. Duplicate the layer and click on the top one. Use the lasso tool to outline the tree and the subjects. Feather the layer mask and then go to Lumetri Color. Then brighten the exposure, darken the contrast and blacks, and adjust as needed. Now the tree and subjects pop against the darker background.
