I was SA’d at 12 too. I didn’t talk about it until my early 20’s. He knew I had a secret and he held it over me. I felt guilt and shame that were not mine to feel. I’ve told my story in TikTok and most are kind, but some have tried to victim shame me. It doesn’t define us. It does affect us in our own way. I’m so sorry you endured that.

I will never understand parents downplaying SA . I had a similar experience with my mom’s godson when he moved in with us . I told her yrs later and she said “ you already had boyfriends at that time” and proceeded to talk about something else . I will never understand or forget
