History doesn’t always repeat verbatim, but it definitely rhymes. Seeing an Idaho bar offer free drinks for “turning in” your neighbors is one of those moments that should make everyone pause. It might seem small, but mindsets like that have gone wrong before. Back in the 1930s, everyday people in 🇩🇪 were encouraged to report each other too, and it created a climate of fear that spread fast. Communities should look out for each other not profit off suspicion. It reminds me of that famous poem, “First they came for one group, and I said nothing… then they came for others, and still I stayed silent… and finally they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up.” Let’s not forget the lesson.
