පෞද්ගලිකව මම හිතන්නේ මේක වෙන්න ඇති මාලදිවයිනේ ඉතිහාසෙටම කරපු ලොකුම කැම්පේන් එක. තවම පැය 30ක් වගේ වෙන්නේ.. දැනටමත් ඩොලර් මිලියනයකට (රුපියල් මිලියන 300) ආසන්න ගානක් ලක්ශ 5ක වගේ මුලු ජනගහනයක් ඉන්න මේ පුංචි රටේ මිනිස්සු අපි වෙනුවෙන් එකතු කරලා.. ලොකු ලොකු රටවල් ඇබරෙද්දි මේ පුංචි දූපත් සමූහයේ ඉන්න මිනිස්සු සුපිරිම ගේමක් ගහනවා. රජයේ ආයතන, පෞද්ගලික ආයතන, මාධ්‍යය, පාසල්, ලොකු / පොඩි ව්‍යාපාර, බැංකු, රාජ්‍ය නොවන සංවිධාන, විදෙස් ශ්‍රමිකයන් මේ ඔක්කොම එකතු වෙලා මේ ගහන ගේම ගැන කියන්න වචන නෑ.. මාලදිවයින් පොලීසියෙන් විතරක් රුපියල් මිලියන 48කට අධික මුදලක් දුන්නා. ටීවී චැනල් මුල ඉදල එක දිගටම ලයිව් යනවා.. මොබයිල් නෙට්වර්ක්ස් නොමිලේ ලංකාවට දුරකථන ඇමතුම් පහසුකම් දීලා.. අතේ තියන කීය කීය හරි ගෙනල්ලා දාන්න පුලුවන් විදියට තැන් තැන් වල කලෙක්ෂන් බොක්ස් තියලා.. ඊට අමතරව මෙහෙ වැඩ කරන ලාංකීය ජනතාවට වෙන වෙනම උදව් කරලා හොයලා බලලා හැම දෙයක්ම කරනවා.. මේ වගේ වෙලාවක මේ ගහන ගේම අමතක නොකල යුතුමයි.. අන්තිමට කියන්න ඕන අපි වාසනාවන්තයි මේ තරම් සුන්දර රටක, මේ තරම් සුන්දර මිනිස්සු එක්ක, මේ තරම් හොද ආයතන වල වැඩ කරන්න ලැබීම ගැන.. මේ කැම්පේන් එක තවම ඉවර නෑ... තවමත් අධාර එකතු කරමින් තියෙන්නේ.. Personally, I think this is probably the biggest campaign ever done in the history of the Maldives. It's still about 25 hours.. The people of this small country with a total polulation around 500,000 peoplehave already raised close to 1,000,000 dollars (300 million rupees) for us.. While big countries are struggling, the people of this small islandnation are doing such a great work. Government and private oragamizations, media, schools, big/small businesses, banks, NGOs, foreign workers, all of them have come together. Maldives Police alone donated more than 48 million rupees. There are no words to say about what they are doinv right now. TV channels have been going live since the beginning. Mobile networks have provided free phone calls to Sri Lanka. Collection boxes have been placed in places so that people can contribute what they have. In addition, they are doing everything they can to help the Sri Lankan people working here. At a hard time like this, what these people doing for us should not be forgotten. Finally, we must say that we are lucky to be able to work in such a beautiful country, with such beautiful people and in such good oranizations.
