Allow me to contribute to this discourse. I'm a Kenyan and I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya among the Somali. Allow me to inform you all that Somali people have a very strong sense of community. There are other 5 or 6 ethnic communities in Kenya that have that sense of community. Kenya has over 43 ethnic communities including Somalis btw. So, the Somalis in MN are just being who they are - themselves. They're Somalis first and then Americans. Even in Kenya, our Somali brothers and sisters are first Somalis and then Kenyans. Many Kenyans still struggle to understand this fact. In fact, our Somali politicians do politics both in Kenya and across the border in Somalia. We Kenyans are okay with it. Americans should come to grips with this fact and accept our beloved brothers and sisters. Hope I helped enlighten you.
