Because you’d be able to experience everything, we idolise our mortality not only because it makes death sweeter but because it gives us a reason to get up and live. However if you live forever you are motivated by a different purpose, say you are the only immortal, you will live a lonely long life and I’d say it would be your duty to live and see everything, to pass down knowledge of forgotten generations and to experience the peak and fall of humanity and then the spark of a new world. The reason Immortality looks so bleak is because you place a mortal outlook onto it, you have to understand you become greater than what you are now

Jesus said "seek first the rewards of heaven" that's generosity, forgivness, love. Better relationships with our neighbors that ultimately make our life better. Even death itself can't corrupt that. It's not ran on pride or ego but in the true self giving that God gave to us thru Jesus. Thats why it's forever because it's the things that nothing not even death can spoil.
