**RECIPE REEL** SAVE NOW This Chicken Karahi is perfect for a simple iftar, make this and serve it alongside some naans, roti or rice and a simple salad. It's packed full of flavour and doesn't take too long to make. Whenever I cook this for my family it disappears fast, so don't be surprised if your family want seconds too! ☺️ Af #alhamdullilah CHICKEN KARAHI You will need: • 1.5 serving spoons ghee (clarified butter) • 1 small roaster chicken • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste • 2 large onions diced • 1.5 tsp salt • 4 green chillies • 4 tomatoes, tops removed • 1 tsp turmeric powder • 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder • 1 tsp coriander powder • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper • 1 tbsp kasthuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) • 1/2 tsp garam masala (recipe on my website) • 2 tbsp Greek yoghurt, whipped till smooth • julienne ginger + chopped coriander to garnish Method: 1. Add ghee to the karahi, once hot add the chicken and ginger garlic paste, cook chicken until it changes colour and is no longer pink. Add the diced onions and salt, cook for a few more minutes. 2. Next add green chillies and tomatoes (remove the tops first), place the cut side down into the pan and leave to cook covered for 8 - 10 minutes before removing the skin from the tomatoes. Mash the tomatoes and then add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder and coriander powder, fry out the spices until the oil separates from the masala and is bubbling around the edges of the pan, the masala will reduce at this stage. 3. Add the ground black pepper, kasthuri methi and garam masala (recipe for this can be found on my website). Add the whipped Greek yoghurt now and cook again till the oil separates from the masala. 4. Lastly, garnish with julienne ginger and fresh coriander, serve with hot flat bread or rice, enjoy! #afeliaskitchen #iftar #iftarideas #simplemeals #chickenkarahi #karahichicken #desifood #desikhana #indian #pakistani #bengali #halalrecipes #homecooked #EasyRecipes ##ramadanrecipes #Ramadan #Ramadan2024 #ramzan
