When we first got married we would sit at the table together for almost every dinner. This was such sweet time of reflecting on our days and catching up without any distractions. Over time a shift began to happen and eventually our dinners were moved into the living room where we watched Netflix as we ate. This habit became the norm and began to rob us of the intentional time we once shared together. When we became parents we would feed Georgia dinner and then wait to have our dinner in front of the TV when she was in bed. The reality is, we really enjoyed our time of unplugging every night in front of the TV together but like so many seemingly harmless things - just because we enjoy something, doesn’t mean it was producing good fruit in our life. When we moved to Missouri last year, we moved into my parents house and they almost always eat dinner at the table. Growing up this was one of my favorite times of the day and it was something that always made me feel loved and close to my family members. We got back in the rhythm of all family meals being at the table and through adopting this rhythm we almost immediately saw positive changes in our marriage and in our family dynamic. Georgia loves family meal time and often will shout with excitement “sit!” when she sees the yummy food on the table. We pray as a family before we eat and take a break from all outside distractions. It’s a time to nourish our bodies and reconnect with each other. Never underestimate the power of turning off the TV and coming back together at the table. 🤍 #familytime #familymeals #beating50percent #marriagetips #christianfamily #christianmarriage #healthymarriage #healthyhome #eatingatthetable
