He retired in 1952 which is an equivilant salary of $123,000 a year and apparently put almost all of it in to the company shares. Risky strategy.

Compound interest is well understood. Finding a savings account/fund/stock etc which genuinely offers this, over time, without high fees is tough.

The dude didn’t just invest in the stock market and watch it compound to $70M. He took 20% of what he made, then bought stock in UPS in 1950.
