Is educational content dead? Heck no! But over-educating is. P.S. This is coming from the queen of over-educating, so I get it—I really do. It’s done with the best intentions, but the reality is, it harms more than it helps. For both your business and your community. Why? Because your content should leave people feeling diagnosed, not healed. When you over-educate, they feel healed, like they have all they need just from your free content. Your content should be a “check to see if you have symptoms” list, and your offers are like the “doctor” that helps solve the problem. Think of your content as a valuable first step toward improvement It’s where your community begins to recognize their challenges and discover solutions (just like searching for health tips on Google). They might learn they need more sleep or sunlight, which undoubtedly helps. But just as a visit to a doctor provides thorough examinations and specialized treatments (more high-level than a Google search), your offers are where your audience receives expert guidance and a transformation to their problem. So what do you do instead? Still educate, but also use your content to show your community the gap between where they are and where they want to go. Shifting beliefs and uncovering things holding them back (you post conversion content) This will help people get curious about your offers instead of walking away with no questions because they see your content as the solution! Want to learn how to do this? Comment “ME” and I’ll send you my best resource for learning conversion content!🫶🏻
