A cheery seal, set to kind of a sad song, but at least it has a happy tune 😅?! I discovered this song about 15 years ago. It came at a time when I had picked up running, and it got me through some of my longer jaunts. And though I’ve since given up running, I am still 100% obsessed with the song 🤩 I often get asked why I sometimes pour wax onto the silicone mat, and why I sometimes pour directly onto the stamp head, and I wish I had an answer for you, lol. I just kinda go by feel, which reminds me of my mom when I ask her for a recipe and she says, “Two shakes of this, a handful of that and a bunch of this,” I realize I’m no help at all, but what I WILL say, is that the more you do it, the more you get a feel for how YOU like to do it, and that’s what’s most important!! And you might even develop some techniques of your own, that you can share with the rest of us 🙌🏼 (I’d love some comments below of things you’ve tried and learned!!) I also get asked why I sometimes use a silicone mat and at other times use the marble coaster. Again, I wish I had a cut and dried answer for you. (My black and white brain totally understands your frustration 😂) So here are some things I CAN tell you: both have pros and cons. Sometimes it’s just because I like the contrast of colors, lol. I usually pour and scrape on the silicone because it seems to get the bubbles out better. And I normally like to use the marble for the final pour, I feel like I can get a more uniform edge on the marble surface. One exception: if the marble is too cold it can cause problems. I try to keep my tea light and oven on the marble to avoid this. “Cheery Happy Birthday” is one of 3 different bday stamps we carry in the shop, all from the same line.
