I live in Chicago but I’ve seen places around that rent plastic moving boxes. And I believe they pick them up and take them away when you’re done!

Another good option for clothing or non fragile items is heavy duty storage bags. I’m not sure bout the material is but I haven’t used boxes in years!

an alternative: ask grocery/liquor stores for left over boxes. Former for big bulk boxes + latter for smaller ones, great for if you don’t have movers

I use boxes from fast food, before they go in the trash. Usually well made and fine. Easy to get and gives them a little more life.
