What are you choosing first? 😍 Lassen Volcanic National Park is a truly otherworldly place. If you haven’t been yet, you must! You can actually spend a great weekend there without hiking at all, but some trails are totally worth it if you have time! 🗺️ 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆: 1. Drive the scenic route, it’s a 30-mile road along the park. It would take just about an hour without stops, but there are so many beautiful views that you can easily spend a whole day driving around! Some of the prettiest stops are alpine lakes Emerald Lake and Lake Helen. You can swim in them too! 2. Check out the park's hydrothermal areas: * Sulphur Works is just a short walk from the parking lot. * Bumpass Hell - The coolest trail in the park. 3 miles round trip to the beautiful hydrothermal area. It remains closed for a long time every year while snow is still on the trail. This year it opened just last week on July 21st! 3. Have fun at Manzanita Lake. You can have a picnic there, kayak on it, or hike around (2 mi round trip). It has one of the most iconic views of the park with the reflection of Mount Lassen 🏔 4. Hike a volcano! Cinder Cone is a 5-mile hard trail for the most otherworldly views! You’ll see Painted Dunes on the way to the top of the volcano which is now one of my most favorite places 😍 5. There are also 2 waterfalls you can hike to: * Kings Creek Falls (2.3 miles round trip) * Mill Creek Falls (3.8 miles round trip) 🎥 Clips of me by @journeywithlina•travel ✈️ Intro made in Higgsfield AI (please remember that drones are prohibited in National Parks. AI is not though 😉) Is Lassen Volcanic National Park on your list? What would you start your trip with? . . . #VisitCalifornia #ShastaCascade #californiaroadtrip #norcal Northern California road trip itinerary, best parks in California, things to do in Shasta Cascade
