Menedez Brother #horrortok #creppy #horror #analoghorror #menedezbrothers Erik and Lyle Menendez were brothers from a wealthy family living in Beverly Hills, California. On August 20, 1989, they brutally murdered their parents, José and Kitty Menendez, by shooting them multiple times with a shotgun that Lyle had previously purchased. After the crime, the brothers called the police, pretending to be terrified witnesses and suggesting that the mafia might have been behind the attack. At first, they were seen as victims of a tragedy. However, their lavish spending after the deaths—on luxury cars, expensive clothing, and private schools—raised suspicions. Months later, Erik confessed to the killings during a session with his therapist, which led to their arrest. During the trial, the defense argued that the brothers acted in self-defense after years of alleged emotional and sexual abuse by their father. The prosecution, however, maintained that the murder was driven by greed. Eventually, after two trials, the brothers were sentenced in 1996 to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Their case remains controversial and emotional to this day, inspiring numerous films, documentaries, and analyses.
