Hard to live off dividends but you can sell of small percentages of your gains every month or every quarter to sustain yourself.

rather just relying on dividends, u can increase income by selling covered calls. now u get dividends + premiums.

$1,000,000 in assets at 5% dividend and you make $50,000 a year. Howeve the goal of long term investing is NOT to reach enough to live off dividends.
