They suctioned my dad...and it broke my heart. It was the only time I could tell he was truly in pain his last couple of days before he passed. ☹️

I just rolled my husband on his side and all the fluid poured out of his mouth and he never made that sound again and passed a few hours later.

Thank you so much for the explanation! They always tell us to suction the airway but it makes sense that the hospice setting has different rules.

This is so true, Penny, the hospital tried to suction the secretions from my Mother, even though she was unresponsive , this procedure was horrible!

I had to suction my grandmother at the very end of life it was horrible. She also was vomiting old blood. Heck of a way to go.
