They can’t cut their hair without permission. You are trusting them to take care of this child and they can’t cut their hair? The system is broken

I’m glad that the parent is in charge of this. I am sure it is hard as a foster parent but this isn’t their kid. It’s parent is the parent

You can’t cut their hair. You can’t have dental work done. You can’t have anything done without the bio parents approval or going through a judge.

Historical context- the US government removed Indian children and the first thing we did was cut off their hair.

YES! our son wanted a mohawk so bad, but bio dad wouldn't allow it. Day after adoption he got it and LOVED it. He was only 5! I was so happy for him!

I was hospitalized due to an accident. Kids went to foster due to no relatives. CPS literally came to ICU to ask me if they could go to beauty shop.

I just don't understand how a parent can decide about the haircut. If they neglected the child enough to wind up in foster care why is this?

The law was made because, the state was cutting hair of native American children/African-American children. It was made to protect cultures.

How many social workers does it take to change lightbulb? 11. 1 to change the lightbulb and 10 to form a committee to discuss if it should be changed.
