Softneck garlic is the most common type of garlic found in grocery stores, characterized by its soft, pliable stalk that can be braided. It has multiple layers of smaller cloves and is easier to grow in warmer climates and harvest mechanically. Softneck garlic also has a longer shelf life compared to hardneck varieties, often lasting six to twelve months // To pick a garlic variety, consider your climate, as hardnecks need cold winters while softnecks are better for warmer climates.
