July 5th, 2025: A JetBlue Airways Airbus A320, operating as Flight 302 from Fort Lauderdale to New York’s JFK Airport, encountered a mechanical issue during its descent. As the aircraft approached JFK, the flight crew reported a flap failure, forcing them to break off their approach. Air Traffic Control responded promptly, directing the plane away from the airport and offering the crew time and space to run their emergency checklists. The aircraft, carrying 150 people, initially requested vectors to hold east of the airport and later declared an emergency.
