This girl came to Blush Nail Bar on Islington/ Norman yesterday July 4 to get her nails done. After the service, she complimented the work and said she really liked how her nails turned out. But when it was time to pay, she said, “I didn’t bring my card. Can I e-transfer you instead?” I agreed and told her that was fine. She tried a couple of times to do the e-transfer but then said her card was locked and she didn’t know why. She asked if she could go to the bank to get the money. By that time, it was already past 8:00 PM, and I started to feel something was off. So I quietly walked to the front and locked the door. After I locked the door, I called my husband. She immediately became nervous and asked, “What are you doing? Who are you calling?” She was clearly scared I might be calling the police. I told her calmly, “I’m not calling the police—just pay me.” She kept making excuses and then suddenly claimed her boyfriend was outside. I told her to call him in to bring the money. She refused, and instead started looking around the salon, clearly trying to find a way to escape. I picked up my phone and pretended to make another call, but this time I started recording a video of her. She noticed and got aggressive, demanding to see my phone. As I was refusing, a regular client of ours happened to walk by the front door. I quickly opened it and asked her to come in and help. The client, Paulina, came in and immediately called the police. At that point, the girl saw the chance and ran out through the back door and escaped. If you see this girl at your salon, be aware. She may try to scam you by pretending her card doesn’t work, then run off without paying. Please share and stay alert.
