I tried to make this video more times than I can count. I was in tears the first time I heard this song, and it just dredged up so much pain and heartbreak I thought I had worked through. I’m married to a good man, that I love so dearly. He has healed so many parts of me, and I thought I had completely healed from the damage that loving my highschool sweetheart had done… but I was wrong. We were so young and loving each other was all we really knew for so many years. The good the bad the terrible. We both hurt each other over the years and I became someone I didn’t recognize trying to save someone who wasn’t ready to be saved.. at least not by me. I’ll never forget being told by someone I trusted and loved deeply, that if I didn’t leave one day I may not ever be able to… It took over a year to mentally prepare to leave the only thing I had ever known, and I fought hand tooth and nail to save the future with him I had prayed so hard over. If you’re reading this, I’m truly sorry we held on so long, we both should have found the will a lot sooner to walk away from another and so much could have been spared. I hope and pray you heal from what’s been plaguing you, and you reach the potential I always knew you had. I’m in good hands now and I’m being loved in all the ways you promised, and I’ve learned that love doesn’t have to sting, it doesn’t have to be walking on eggshells, bracing for impact and chaos. I’m being given the love daily I prayed so long for, and I can only pray that you are able to love, and be loved this way one day. 🤍
