It’s not the “nuchal cord” that causes issues it’s when there is cord compression or kinks/knots.

It’s not always an issue! And sometimes you don’t know until babe is born! My daughter had no issue with her nuchal cord!

my son was strangled by his cord when I delivered him. he came out so fast the cord around his neck kept him from hitting the floor. doc fell asleep

Homebirth mama here- my baby boy was born with his cord around his neck, too. And he was perfectly fine 🙂 It’s more common than people think!

sadly my labor ended in an emergency c-section bc his cord was wrapped so tight around him it ended up being compressed and the contractions cut off

At my hospital birth my midwife told me nuchal cords are very common and don’t pose a problem. It’s not like they’re kinked

out of my 4 pregnancies 2 of my babies where wrapped around their neck. 1 of them was born blue not breathing but thankfully for just a few seconds

Usually no issue but I know of three babies who were lost before birth due to nuchal cords 🥺🥺🥺
