My first was a 40 miler that I planned. 4 laps from my home. COVID messed up a lot of the local races, but I was gonna do one before I turned 40. 😁

My first ultra was a timed 12 hour, 1 mile loop. Goal was 50K and without the pressure of a DNF I made it to 43!

I am so late to this video but I’m looking to try my first one (a 12 hour one) September 2026. I’m not really sure how one trains for that kind of thing though. I’m contemplating just training for it like a 50 miler since my goal is to hit 50 miles in the 12 hours. Any opinions or maybe a little guidance to offer for a newbie?
