as a dm, lower the acs and dcs of everything, if it's only one player give them the final attack or hit on an enemy, also dm inspiration points (1)

make a monster that is more likely to get hit and takes more damage the lower the roll is and give it some fun flavor to justify the reverse mechanics

lower the AC, but add more enemies - that way they'll feel good for taking some down but still have to think about things. not foolproof, a nat 1 is

my dice got cursed once, i had to get the incense and the uncrossing oil to cleanse them bc i rolled 6 nat 1s in one 2hr game
