I rescued two dogs, their about 8 months old now, we got them when they were about 3 months old, they have always been food reactive... how do I fix it.... we have separated them during feeding BC they fight over it... they have nipped at my kids just for walking by while they were eating....

dog should be able to eat in peace, imo if you want to avoid food aggression mix up hand feeding there meals instead of just eating from a bowl

Yes it will prevent your dog from aggression towards you for the food but will give the dog anxiety especially when other dogs come around there food.

As well as what you are doing, I make the dog 'work' for a meal- by that I just mean sit, stay for 30sec then release to get food
