Probably you should copy the pattern on the door to the wall like the small slabs will be on the top and long goes on the bottom?

You could cut the top of the long slat at a 45* angle and the opposite on the bottom of the shirt slat. The overlap will conceal a lot better 😁

Would the door have been concealed more if you cut the slats at a 45 degree angle between the door and the wall slats? Not sure?
