I agree. memorization won't help students learn. sometimes they will only remember the stuff they memorized and then forget it later

I don’t allow my students to use notes bc they are not allowed to use them on their end of course exam. Otherwise I would!!!! I teach algebra

Chapter Tests and Finals, yes. Smaller reviews and quizzes no. There are ways to exercise their brains without overwhelming them!

as a student I see people cheat alot more here recently. I don't see the point of memorizing stuff over and over when we grow up it becomes no help

mine are always allowed notes. they don't take then or use them. open book tests ...they don't look the answers up at all
