this is the reason for the infield fly rule, but it's up to the ump if it applies here. I've never seen a bunt fly.

That's a good play infield fly rule does not apply to line drives or bunts so both players are out.

if it was a swing, infield fly, but because it was a bunt the offense does not get the benefit of that rule. maybe the batter should learn how to bunt
