Absolutely perfect film. Editing, score, vfx, sound mixing, obviously the iconic performances. They should've never met a sequel, let alone five.

I would argue Act 2 starts when the power goes down and the main ‘problem’ starts. Ellie/Hammond eating ice cream is the classic transition into Act 3

This is always in my top 3 films. Love it. It stands out as it's a slow-burner Hollywood film. The gradual build up of tension is rarely used now.
