...ever heard of the 1jzgte / 2jzgte 😅 smaller engines with boost have been working well for a long time.

Honestly can’t blame car manufactures for these tiny engines it’s the EPA pushing their mpg standards on manufacture

that 'little' engine makes 25% more power than fords last engine which is twice its size, the infamous 5.4 triton. and gets 20mpg in a 6k pound truck

Toyota is even doing it now… the new 3.5 in the Tundra/Sequoia. I’m guessing Toyota did it better since it’s 10yrs behind… only time will tell.

I actually agree w you, especially for how much I have to pay for a bronco. I want it to last.

sure longevity is a question but 2 turbos has nothing to do with valve springs or keepers popping off.

Also why did they put such a weak transmission into it? I still ordered one despite these issues. Over 2 yr wait

longevity doesn’t get cut like that also…these engines are put to a harsh stress test before being released, why is it failing? tbh most first gen of

you're wrong. the issue is going to be with the retainers or valve stem where the retainer seats are. or the springs are too soft for the rpm range.

there are a lot of cars that came with twin turbo. the turbo has nothing to do with this.

At least their turbo’s aren’t self destructing any more, but now it’s Rimini good chains and valve springs 🤣

Just to counter argue, the 2.7 has more hp tq than any stock v8 in a bronco in the past. That 2.7 has had issues already when it was in the explorerst

Yup. When an engine is super/turbo charged they wear out faster. They’re forced to work harder. I will never by a vehicle with those in them!

F150’s have had the 2.7 in them since 2017 and honestly they’re stout engines. seeing these 2.7’s last 150k+ isn’t unheard of

That’s not exactly how that works, also Toyota is known for building the most reliable 6 cylinder twin turbo engine in the world in the 90’s and 2000s

everyone is going to turbos and direct injection. Epa is directly causing these changes because of economy ratings. The end user sufers
