I decided to completely rewrite my breastfeeding journey and take it into my own hands… 🥹 My timeline 👇 - At birth: goal to exclusive nurse and started down that path - 0-5 weeks postpartum: only nursing and latching baby but was in a lot of pain, my baby’s wasn’t gaining weight. My doctors and LCs were not able to find a solution for me. I was told to continue nursing but supplement every feeding with formula. - 5-6 weeks postpartum: I decided to try pumping in addition to nursing, triple feeding, but only got drops at a time - 7-8 weeks postpartum: got a new pump, corrected my flange size, decreased stress, improved diet and hydration, made pumping more comfortable (coconut oil, pump cushions, lactation massage), created and followed a new pump schedule, added power pumping - 9-12 weeks postpartum: continued to focus on pumping but experienced many ups and downs, desires to quit but kept going. Stopped latching completely. - 12-15 weeks postpartum: FINALLY was making enough for my baby to fully breastfeed and started freezing extra pumped milk 🥹 - 4+ months postpartum: pumped OVER 50 oz a day, freezing extra, donated thousands of oz to my local Mother’s milk bank, started sharing my journey online to inspire & help others 🤍 This is just to show it IS possible! It’s not easy but with determination and the right info, it can be done 🍼💁🏻‍♀️ ✅ if you have EVER felt alone in your breastfeeding journey, just know that you aren’t and FOLLOW here for community, support and tips that work 💪 #pumpingmama #strongmothers #newmomtips #exclusivelypumping #pumpingmom
