I thought long and hard about posting this… and I’m still in two minds. But no act of courage comes without vulnerability. This video was recorded over a week ago, when I received my third termination of tenancy letter in four years. 😣 We’ve done nothing wrong — bills always paid, rent always on time. We’re just renting in a climate that feels unsustainable for so many of us in Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪 If I’m honest, my heart breaks each time I have to pack up and move. The stress, the insecurity, the lack of stability… it’s exhausting. We keep hearing excuses — but where are the solutions? The government creates new rules for landlords while selling apartment complexes to vulture funds. And yet people like me, like so many of us, are left with no home, no security, no hope. I don’t want to lose faith in this country, but I’m struggling. So @Simon Harris TD @Connolly for President @Mary Lou McDonald @Darragh O’Brien TD @EoinOBradaigh @Gary Gannon TD @Ivana Bacik @CianONCallaghan — I’m asking you directly: What do you suggest I do next? What should renters like me do, when we’re being moved on again and again? To anyone watching who’s been through this: you’re not alone. Please share your story in the comments. I wasn’t going to share this as I’m sure a lot of you find it cringey and I get that. It’s a very vulnerable and raw situation to share so publicly but unfortunately this is the reality that so many people just like me face in Ireland. I think now is a time to tak about it since the last budget completely neglected so many people who just want a stable place to live. I will get through it as unfortunately I have done twice before in the last 4 years.
