Most of us just swipe her card and it only charges us for what we use. However if you pre-pay too much you get your change back. easy to understand.

We don’t pay before. We swipe our card and then after we finish pumping it charges us for the amount we used.

in NZ you pay pre pay with card ans it holds $200 until your done and then only takes what you use.

If it’s anything like Malta. It’s a preauth on your card; meaning you spend up to that amount. Fill your car up and then it deducts what you’ve used.

it's because gas station got tired of people driving off and not paying for gas. a lot of people would driving off not paying for gas. that why.

We know how big our gas tanks are and multiple it by the dollar. It's not always full but its close enough. Or you just always pay by card at the pump

In Canada we pay before we fill up, but our card is just preauthorized to the limit you choose. But if it you only get charged for the amount you use

canadian here: I pay at the pump before, you pre-authorize it, fill up the tank and you’re charged what you put in. easy peasy.
