engineer here, put a rod to size through it all the way and weld a plate on each end, that will improve performance.

sounds like your pressures are to high if you are sheering the pin ,might need to adjust the relief preasure

All these guys talking about fabricating pins aren't owner/operators. Torch the access holes to fit a standard pin through. Current & future issue fix

Go to a metal shop (welding or machine) and have them make you a pin that fits, may not be chromed but be stronger than a bolt

just go buy a piece of 1 1/4" cold roll from the steel yard and cut it to length and drill holes for cotter pins. alot cheaper
