growing up my mom would always tell me a 9-to-5 job is priceless. being able to clock in/out of work and not think about work on the nights or weekends was a luxury. after dipping my toes into entrepreneurship in my 20s, and not having a W2 job for over 2 full years now, i have a lot of thoughts about work life balance!! 1) it takes discipline to reap the benefits. i think thats why it’s so important to love what you do, because you have to be able to motivate yourself to actually do what you need to get done, no matter what schedule you’re setting for yourself 2) id rather integrate my life into my work day than segment work into a 9-5 mold. i’d rather be on my computer for 2-3 hours on a saturday afternoon than force myself to skip an afternoon walk or be on my computer during my least-productive daytime hours. 3) the future of work is definitely changing. i personally employ 2 contractors (part time freelancers, 1 has been with me for over 2 years now!). SO many roles are starting to be hired freelance/contract, employers would rather hire someone for 1 specialized task than try to fill their time 40 hours per week. if you’ve made $$ from entrepreneurial work or as a freelancer, i want to hear your thoughts 🫶 #worklifebalance #femaleentrepreneurs #selfemployment #freelancelife
