It’s the state of Jalisco in general but they allowed other states like Michoacan, Tamaulipas, Guanajuanto and Nayarit!

Pretty sure that’s not 100% accurate. I think it can come from that general area, it covers a few states in Mexico.

it has to come from the state of Jalisco, not necessarily Tequila the town... anything outside is Mezcal 😋
